why did Paul in 1 Corinthians 1:17 say he was not sent to baptize, but to preach the gospel?”  I appreciate the question and will seek to answer it in our discussion of “Paul’s Teaching on Baptism.”  Obviously, if you have questions or comments on our lesson, I will be more than glad to hear from you. Every serious student of the New Testament knows the shameful confusion that existed in the church at Corinth.  Paul had received news from people of the house of Chloe that the members at Corinthwere saying, “I belong to Paul; and I belong to Apollos; and I belong to Cephas; and I belong to Christ” (1 Cor. 1:11-12).  Paul did not want to contribute to the division in the church; so he made a conscious effort not to baptize personally those who came to Christ.  If anyone doubts that statement, please listen to Paul’s own explanation.  “Is Christ divided?  Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul? We are to wear the name of the one in whose name we were baptized.  Peter commanded the believing Jews on Pentecost: “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38).  Since the Jews on Pentecost were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, they were to wear his name and his name only. They did not belong to Peter or to James or to John or to anyone else who may have actually baptized them into Christ.  They belonged to the one in whose name they were baptized, that is, to Jesus Christ.                                                       

IF THAT STATEMENT IS REALLY TRUE THEN:  PAUL, NEVER REALLY TAUGHT SALVATION, AND THAT'S WHY THE APOSTATE STATE OF THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH EXISTS AS IT DOES TODAY  AND THE NON-BIBLICAL "SINNERS PRAYER" ALSO EXISTS BECAUSE THE APOSTLE PAUL TURNED OUT TO BE A FRAUDULENT WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING ONLY TO FINISH THE WORK THAT THE ROMAN GOVERNMENT HAD  ORIGINALLY SENT HIM OUT TO DO AND THAT WAS TO GET RID OF THE HOLY 12 ORIGINALS BUT IN ORDER TO STOP AND CONFUSE  THE CHRISTIAN MOVEMENT FROM SPREADING SO HE FAKED A  BIG PHONY CONVERSIONARY EXPIERENCE TO WORK AS AN UNDERCOVER AGENT TO DERAIL THE CHRISTIAN MOVEMENT WORKED HE FINISHED THE JOB SO THE ROMAN GOVERNMENT PROBABLY LET HIM OFF FROM BEING EXECUTED BECAUSE HE FINISHED THE WORK FOR THE ROMAN GOVERNMENT THAT HE WAS ORIGINALLY SENT OUT TO DO AND THATG WAS TO CONFUSE AND STOP THE CHRISTIAN MOVEMENT ACTUALLY WORKED BY NOT TEACHING SALATION.
